How many books do you read a year?
Generally we try to tackle about one book a month, so that's 12 books a year. However, we've been known to take a little longer between books, so the average is usually lower.
Who decides what book the group will read any given month?
That system has shifted back and forth over the years, and most recently we've decided that whoever volunteers to host the next meeting also gets the privilege of selecting our next read. We all take turns hosting, so this seems like an easy and fair way to pass the decision-making around, and it ensures that we read a wide variety of books.

How do you get the book, once it's chosen?
Some people buy it themselves, other people borrow it from a public library. Usually the host of the meeting will take the initiative to collect orders, then buy a bulk quantity of the book through our site. Not only does this save on S&H, it also means we can take advantage of our Amazon Associates discount.
How does the Amazon Associates discount work?
When you purchase a book through one of the specially-formatted "Buy this Book!" links on our site, you have the opportunity to save! If you click through on a particular book, then buy that book, you'll eventually get 15% back. If you click on a particular book, then buy some other book, you'll get 5-10% off. Amazon actually sends the amount saved directly to our account, based on the link and the amount purchased. The transaction shows up on our Amazon Associates report and we can use the percent saved towards other book club purchases.
